My name is Krista and I like to cheer. For as long as I can remember, I've felt spirit bubbling up inside. I spent my teenage years in orange polyester rah-rah skirts, but I hold a different megaphone now.
My well-trained lungs are all about energizing anyone and everyone to go green. Whether it's growing your own food on the cement patch behind your house or learning how to make your own laundry soap, I am here to cheer you on. With personal choices as powerful political persuasion, I've spent the last 20 years on my own journey to live in a more sustainable, respectful way with the Earth. The GREEN ZONE is a gathering place for tasty green tidbits of information that may be useful to you. My Green Zone is stoked to be The Change.
High kick with me on the only "Adventures of a Garden Teacher Blog." Get as enamored as I do by the first through eighth graders I get to rally around the garden at Innovations Public Charter School. Children eat what they grow and my students grow everything from starfruit to spinach. Our students recycle all HI offers and has worm composting systems in every classroom; all this on an Island that got its' first recycling centers just five years ago. I even work with teachers to tie green curriculum into regular classroom learning.
